Matt and Theresa met while serving and volunteering at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion, Michigan. Today, Matt is a STEM teacher at St. Joseph School and works in camera ministry. Theresa is a 5th grade teacher at St. Joseph School and serves in cantor ministry.

Our lives took us many places before God brought us home, to the Church, where we found each other.

Matt proposed after surprising Theresa with a trip to visit Mackinac Island in Northern Michigan. Mackinac Island is a special place for both of them. They separately visited the island on summer vacations when they were children, and it's one of the first places Theresa invited Matt to visit with her family when they began to discern getting married.

Matt got down on one knee at St. Anne Catholic Church on October 5th, 2025.
